Hi, im thinking about buying a ipod. But im not sure if my music collection which is made up of 95 % MP3's will work on a ipod. What formats does the ipod use for music files. Can i just import mp3 files with no problem...or does the ipod have its own special format that the files have to be in to play?

Thanks for looking

Thanks !!!
So is itunes the only way to interface with a ipod from a computer??
Cant it be setup as like a storage drive that plays music.
Sorta like a RIO mp3 player or any other portable mp3 player where one can basically drag and drop a file into the drive.

You can get plugins for a lot of different players. A couple of my friends have an iPod plugin for winamp that seems to work pretty good. Aswell the iPod can be setup as a storage device and features something called "Disk Mode". However you can't drag and drop music on to the drive and play them.
